The idea came from two pieces of Oak railroad ties that stayed in a corner at the owner’s
yard. After re-sawing the two pieces, a dramatic, rich textured white oak was revealed.
Being used railway VVV, the material was full of holes from original hardware and time
created dents. In order to achieve a seamless, dent-less surface a clear epoxy was used to
fill the dents and voids, while maintaining the “look and feel” of the time beaten wood. In
addition, the request was to maintain natural look, the long sides of the table were only
